What would I have to do to make this Becker SATNAV work in my 202 - I know I'd need some sort of GPS aerial - expensive? What else is involved and is it a reasonably easy job?

Is this model any good? Like the idea of not getting lost but know I'll forget to remove the dash mount[or the sucker mark] and come back to a smashed window one day

It should do. It needs reverse and speed signal - you can often ignore reverse - it just helps improve knowing where you are if you reverse a lot. and it will need a GPS aerial, which you can put under the dash.

It also uses D2B fibreoptic for connecting to CD changer, integrtaed phone etc. You may well have a CD changer in your W202, and dependant on age it may be D2B or older technology. - If you don't have any of those options, tnen no worries at all.

I put one of those in my R129 SL, I really liked it. make sure you get a new map disk as it contains software updates as-well. I can't remember the latest version of the Audio-30 APS map disk

What is in your car at the moment ?

The APS 30, is a great unit, its easy to use, I have on fitted to my SL, and prefer it to the Comand fitted in my ML.

It keeps the interior looking standard, and its fairly discrete, most people think its just a cd player, so it shouldnt get stolen.

If you have a Audio 10 or similar fitted in your car, its a straight swap, just add a gps antenna.

If you can get it for £230 or less then its a good price.

Great unit!

Got one my self BE4718. You will need to buy a GPS Ariel but you can find them on eBay too for not to much. Look here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-SAT-NAV-G...ryZ75327QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and you will see that you need one with a WIC connector.

Also do a search on this board and you can find lots of info about them. I find the postage a bit steep £20 can be done for a tenner but he give it a try.

The only point is that when you use the navigation you can't really play music Cd's or being a DJ, swap NAV CD with the music CD. This is true for long journeys. That's why a have a CD Changer installed. Well the other reason is that I don't want to use the Audio 30 APS for music Cd's to keep the laser longer alive. A CD Changer I can buy for about £150 on eBay (Germany)...

Latest NAV version is Version 9.0 comprises of 4 Cd's covering all Europe. TMC is NOT working on this Island.
