If it has a full MB service history, can you not buy a warranty from MB? If not, there are a few warranty companies on tinternet that will sell you a warranty.

It does have a full MBSH but I enquired about a service contract with Jacksons at Poole and they told me that I couldn't take one out against an AMG.

yes they do... not sure how they can get around that... if so id be interested as i negotiate a lot of "trade deals - no warranty" only for them to want me to fix any issues afterwards..

They are driving it down to another branch so that I don't have to drive all the way up from Poole.

@stats007 I think that I read something recently to that effect but I can't be sure. All I know is that I was told that they (the dealer) would only provide 1 months warranty.

I think it is that the car has to be of merchantible quality for 3 months ..

not exactly a warranty in the traditional sense, and would cover the engine blowing up for example.
