BENZ ON THE GREEN 11TH OF MAY 2024

On the day, I’ll be taking a Kleemann SLK 55K S8, and Olly will have it up on the ramps in the PCS workshop in the morning session, working his magic.

It’s completely standard on the outside, so the only way to see all of the the Kleemann hardware is under the bonnet and from underneath on a ramp.

I can take your AMG GTS for you if that helps? A personal sacrifice, but what are mates for after all?

I like to put myself out for others. It is a cross I bear......
As a reward for your selfless actions, on behalf of the online car community. I could throw you the keys to a Mercedes-AMG ForFour AMG Sport Plus Black Series Night Edition Premium Plus 125 Navi facelift powered by Brabus, but only if you promise not to go showboating in it - it’s essential that I keep it on down-low.

I’m more shocked at that offer than the GTS. 😁

Gollom will need to undertake a comprehensive 6-week high speed and high performance driving programme - and of course get a racing license - in order to be able to safely and confidently drive the track weapon that is the Mercedes-AMG ForFour AMG Sport Plus Black Series Night Edition Premium Plus 125 Navi facelift powered by Brabus on the road.

What a wonderful opportunity for Steve. I hope he appreciates the fact he’s somewhat jumped the queue. 🥳

Oof… It’s times like this I wish I wasn’t so far up north. This is a nearly 5 hour drive from me! 😖

Do what some others do and make it a long weekend by booking in the Horndean Premier Inn
Dear God - £272 for 2 nights in a Premier Inn? o_O For us (with fuel from Preston, meals, drinks etc.) we would be talking at least £400. I'd love to attend but not sure have that to spare

(Not a complaint about where it is BTW before somebody jumps on me. It is where it is and were it 'oop 'north, a corresponding number of people would have the same issue)

Make a weekend of it. We have all mod cons down south. :p

I’ll have been on the road for 1 1/2 hours before passing Leeds on my way to Horndean.
I’m sure others will be travelling from even further still.
As already mentioned, If circumstances allow why not consider making it a weekend break.

Even better, it will feel like a holiday!

It’s close to 4 hours on a fairly good run for me, but I’ll go there and back on the same day. Traffic will be light early on a Saturday too.

Are you going in your new motor?

Sounds great but a three hour drive for me, will give it some thought 🤔

It is that time of year again to announce the date of probably the best Mercedes-Benz gathering in the uk. Many of you have been before and I am sure you can vouch for the show. Our website is www.benzonthegreen.co.uk I am waiting for it to be updated this week with the dates etc.

We are supporting the Air Ambulance this year. I thought it was very relevant to our hobby of motor vehicles and one day we may need them.... They do an fantastic job and I am very keen to help them out as much as possible. There will be a fee to pay on the door of £10 cash. We have no card facilities outside. The entrance fee is going straight to the Air Ambulance.

We hold a raffle on the day and welcome any automotive related (and booze) donations before the day.

The venue is the same as last year www.georgeinnfinchdean.co.uk The new Landlord is a huge petrol head and is very much looking forward to the event. They hold car shows at their other pub so they know their stuff. The food this year is going to be American BBQ and freshly made pizza. The food at the pub is going to be a true highlight I am sure. For those that have not been before there is a large parking area at the rear of the field to show off your car. We have local B&B's and a Travelodge nearby in Horndean.

Lets hope the sun is shining as always and you can make it. We have a max of 100 cars and as many guests as you wish.

The event starts at 12 at the pub. Food will be ready straight away.

We do have some early birds that like to come to our workshop beforehand. The PCS team including me will be there to answer any technical questions and if you wish to have some heavily discounted work done, a check over or a 'plug in' than we would be happy to help. Just email [email protected]

Boring (but important) bits.

1. I live in the village that the show is in, please be respectful of our neighbours when arriving and leaving the venue. There are lot of horse riders, cyclists and walkers around the village. I get told off every year..... :wallbash::)
2. Add your name to the list below if you can definitely make it. Max 100 cars.
3. Venue is The George Inn, Finchdean, PO8 0AU from 12pm www.georgeinnfinchdean.co.uk
4. Earlybirds from 9am - 11am at PO8 0BJ www.prestigecarservice.co.uk

Any questions to 02392 570123 or [email protected]

Look forward to seeing you all.
Olly

Pete
