Benz On The Green 2023 on the 13th of May

Thanks to PCS and team for another awesome event. This would be my second year of attendance, great turn out and above all fantastic weather and great vibrance of cars, some that we hardly see on the road too. Wish had more time to speak to everyone, managed to put some user names to faces. Hope to see and make more friends at the next meet. Here some photo taken today, apologies if I have missed out any cars.

Great Benz on the Green event, thanks to Olly, Pauline and the gang and the MB UK Club. Parked next to a very special car from the same era as mine but I suspect a little more expensive!!! A 190 Evo II which rightly won best in show. You don’t see many of these parked in a field behind a pub!

Great day catching up with all the regular faces & a few new, my lad loved it and sure he will be back again..Thanks to Olly, Pauline & everyone else who helped to make this such a great event..
All these photos are great as I didn't take many. Weird that a McClaren's Ferrari & a Jaaaaaaag (Clarkson style) got taken and the 2 stunning Commercials in the corner missed out.. so to readdress the balance 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

In the Blue Peter tradition, Here's one I made earlier....about 31 years earlier......

IMG_0590.jpeg
Unfortunately, I experienced my first ever road side recovery and my first in over 60,000 miles of XJ220 motoring on my way down on Friday.
The 999 reg on the car means that it has had a number of experiences with the emergency services (read the info sheet attached!) but this was a first for both of us needing roadside recovery.
I'm reasonably sure it has suffered a Bosch high pressure fuel pump failure in its 31 year old system. Trouble with this modern stuff, it's just not built to last.....

Sorry to have missed the gig, and I hope you will all be able to see one of these very rare beasts very soon.
It was actually the best example of a 220 I have driven in the 100 miles I did do, but it did mean an enforced overnight stay in a rather good pub, with excellent food.
It could have been much worse.

Thinking about the cars on show yesterday, I was a little surprised to see only one 204 C63 on show (plus a C63BS and my shed).
In the past, the car park was full of C63's, not any more. Are the dynamics changing?

Also, not one 205 C class, let alone in 63 guise. Surely they aren't that unloved.
Apart from the older classic models, this year seemed full of SL's, E63's and S classes.
Anyway, just thinking aloud . It was a great turnout and many thanks to Olly and Pauline for arranging this annual event.

Looks like all had a good blast, hopefully next year I will also be able to attend, lovely pictures of fine motors.

That's because all the cool kids drive E, S, SL's 👍

Have to ask, who own's the white E63 Wagon with the gold bonnet liner? Assume it's slightly tweaked

Just another post to say thanks to Olly & Pauline for putting on another good meet, also Jack and Josh who were working in the garage all morning. There was an excellent turnout and it was good to see some old friends and meet a few new ones.

The weather was excellent yet again and the new landlord of The George seemed to put a good effort in, hopefully he had a good day out of it too?

I'll hopefully see a few of you guys again at the Beaulieu meet in August. :D

The ride down was a bit of a nightmare because as I left home the sat-nav on the bike announced, "A34 closed; Re-routing" and it took the only other viable route which was M40 / M25 / A3, and both the M40 and M25 were a shambles.

Missed you Phil sorry about that but didn't even know you were there. :( If it's any consolation, the A34 was still closed today on the Southbound, with the Northbound reduced to one lane running so took ages to get through. Someone also decided to close the M6 Northbound between J4 & J6 so yet another detour across to the M5 to get me back home. None of it was helped by the fact that I've not renewed my subscription to ME for live traffic updates. That may have been a mistake...

I saw your car there and had a good scout around trying to find you but failed 😞

We’re as bad as each other!
