Hello all,

My 300 te is in need of a service and I was after getting the bits myself.

I was going to head down to the local stealership for the parts, but does anybody else sell the original mb bits cheaper?

Thanks in advance for your help

If you know your part number you can always try www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk (if you don't know your part number, you can always get them from your local dealer). Some dealers will also give a 10% on parts for cars over 3 years old, worth asking.

If you are willing or prepared to use non-MB parts but want to get OEM parts you can try www.eurocarparts.co.uk. I use them to get my brake parts.

Also KMS and GSF.

Both stock OEM but sometimes ship non-OEM by post.

Good if you visit their parts desk though as you get the cheaper prices and get to see what they are selling you first.

The mercedes-benz-parts site is a window into Inchcape, who are the largest group of Merc dealers in the UK, not owned by Merc themselves. Their prices vary from list to good, depending on the item.

Sometimes genuine parts from the dealer are actually cheaper than either OEM or 'alternative' parts from the likes of ECP .

I often phone both for prices to compare first .

It can be worth joining the Mercedes-Benz Club as your £30 annual sub buys you between 10% - 20% discount from a lot of the dealers ( just make sure you get a price BEFORE you produce your membership card and ask for the club discount . You don't need to buy many parts before the sub has paid for itself .

Some people order parts from dealers in Germany where list prices on parts are actually much lower and even after postage there is still a saving .

You can also get discount by simply *saying* that you're a member of the owner's club or just begging. I've had success with both strategies (mostly begging).

Pleading poverty has brought some parts down by 30%, and I had a service once that included free brake components because everything was discounted to total the price of a normal service! :)

I have just come back from the main dealer as i needed a couple of bits urgent ish, I asked about discount for older vehicles and he stated that it only applied to parts for vehicles serviced by them 20% off labour and 10% off parts:confused:

Ah well where can I get a detailed parts breakdown for my old 300 te?

Any help much appreciated

Paul

what do you need ??
I am main dealer but will do good discount on service parts irrespective of the year

Jay, can you do a pair of wiper refills for a 1981 107 SLC? And if so, how much?

It often pays to turn on the charm :D

However , until they get to know you , some dealers do ask to see your card .
