need a battery for a g reg 300e 24v. Halfords site says £92 please. Is that the going rate or can I get one cheaper??

If so where please,

Matt

Tried MB themselves ?

Sometimes they can surprise you ....

Or try Vauxhall, good batteries,& certainly cheaper than Halfords !!

Another place i have used in the past is a place on line called batman uk
They are cheap and they deliver

I put a Bosch Silver on my mothers Audi 100 at least eight years ago, Touch wood its still fine , Including some periods of very sporadic use.

Sometimes the MB Batteries may be obtained at a better price through a commercial (i.e Van) Outlet - Less potted plants and plate glass to pay for?

I had to use a Kwik Fit battery, and had to settle for the highest amperage they had 88amp, mine was a 110amp. It was a breakdown on a cold sunday morning so there were no options. But I do hear that MB are very good on battery prices so dont exlude them just yet, and at least with MB you will get the correct one.

MB or Bosch/Varta will be okay.

People often assume MB will be expensive for batteries, but they're pretty reasonable - no more expensive really than places like Halfords etc.

Anyone bought a Costco Bosch battery recently - price/spec for comparison?

Will

GSF (German, Swedish & French). I bought my Bosch S3 from GSF last week for £56.35 all in including the 10% discount as a member of the official Merc Club for my 190E.

Halfords were quoting £109.99 for a Bosch and £99.99 for their own-brand Calcium battery. Fat chance!

GSF or Euros, they price match/beat each other anyway and both do Bosch Silver.....

I've got a trade card for both Vauxhall and Halfords - if anyone is local enough, I don't mind saving them some money. :)

Ian.

anywhere you go for a battery they are all as competitive as each other ive had batteries from halfords no probs and you get 3 yr guarantee with them ive got a bosch battery on my c class 180 no probs at the mo touch wood

I got one from mercedes. Halfords had it for £100 and when I rang by luck the Mercedes dealership in Warrington they had them on offer for £130 instead of £179, so for £30 more I got the genuine one. wenr and picked up with my 240. Worth checking the dealerships close to you.

If I was lazy and waited for the mobilo life to change my flat with the one in his van, it would be the £179.

The only thing is where you dispose the old battery. I have neglected this and the old one is still sitting secure in my 240's boot. Weighs a ton, must find a tip.

Hi

Mercedes Commercial or Van dept is the best place in my opinion.

Try them and see for yourself.

The van guys are so much easier to negotiate with too.

That's quite a list you guys have given me to try! I will ring round in the morning and then go get one.

With the Scrappage scheme & thousands of running uninsured cars being plucked from the streets I'd look in a local scrapyard or breaker.

Have just been to ECP, got a Bosch SIlver for £59 inc of VAT which I thought seemed a good price.
