Best small car

Mark
If you want something economical and above all reliable you could look at a Skoda. ;) :D
Seriously though either a Fabia or Octavia would fit the bill and give 60-70mpg on your journey if you stick to 100bhp TDi.

Nice and warm here with all these flames around me.:)

Toyota Aygo? No idea whether it's any good, but I think it ticks all your boxes - maybe even including the "cute and different" category.

Here is the short list for this weekend

Panda
Clio
Corsa
Micra
C1
Colt
Ignis
Wagon R

Or the Smart stays and gets fixed up........

I'll let you all know later

Have fun Mark - but bet you end up having a row! :D

lol - enjoy :D

How about a pushbike with a trailer?
Loads of miles to the gallon (water for the pedaler) and you get fit too:p :p

I'm surprised you left out the Modus, I tell you it's a little 'Gem'. I didn't like it till I drove it all over Spain & Portugal......and it's actually bigger than the Clio, in actual fact it's a lot bigger than you think! ;)

Audi A2 I'm sure they have a small diesel engine too, which is uber economical.

Well thats a few hours of my life I'll never get back:crazy:
I have visited all of the above + Jazz etc

Most of these I can't get into!

The rest were so dull they sent me immediate coma.

Its looking more and more like I'm going to keep the Smart and spend some cash on her:rolleyes:
Only one which has half tempted so far is the Clio 197, but the insurance quote for Fiona on a provisional licence is a joke and rules it out without question

Is your Roadster standard or a Brabus?

Mark, what about one of these?? a friend of mine has one 100bhp 0-60 about 9 secs and he reckons no matter how hard he drives it it wont do less than 40mpg, I would get one for work If I could afford one, i think they are great...:bannana: this one is a bit dear but... only an example :)

you should fit...

:o :o For some reason I thought coupe ment you had a roadster like this one.

It certainly explains alot - I was thinking it was a big change to move from a roadster to a panda :D

Easy solution then - sell the smart, buy a smart Roadster Coupe! :)

Failing that, I nearly bought an Audi A2 recently. Very impressed with them - a far superior car to the Mercedes A class. The A2 is a four seater, not five - the A class pretends to be a five seater but it's not very comfortable if you do :P The one I was looking at was in your price bracket, although it was a little older than 18 months - it was on a 53 plate, for £6000, but automatic diesel with leather. I decided I want a larger car in the end (hence the 7 series) but I could have easily used this for long runs and daily commutes.

Not a Roadster, its a coupe.
This is my Smart with Mods listed. Just add 10k mile since it was written.

Maybe if you took the sound system out, it would have more power:devil:

Seriously mark, I would keep the smartie.
1) You know what it does to the gallon
2) You know how it performs power wise (spend a few quid on it)
3) You know how reliable it is.

Better the devil you know;)
