Hi all, Just bought a secondhand head lining from someone, it has come from a scrappies , so has the usual greasy mechanic smears and general grubiness on it. As its not a smooth surface, its the fabric type on hardboard type backing, i am unsure the best way to clean it without making it worse. I have bought some autoglym upholstery cleaner, but not tried it yet thought it best to ask the experts first .

Any help appreciated

Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner is good. You wipe on and wipe off, or use it through a wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

A cheaper option is to use Supermarket All Purpose Cleaner. Most sell it and it costs just 26p for a 750ml bottle. ;)

You could ask the question HERE.

The AutoGlym interior cleaner is brilliant stuff. Wet the headlining with it thoroughly in a small area, agitate it a bit with your fingers or a soft brush and wipe it off with a clean, wet microfibre. Wash the microfibre regularly and you'll find it lifts all the dirt off

If you wet an area and let it run it will leave streaks so use it carefully, wet the area you are working on and wipe up runs

It's not a detergent, it's a cationic cleaner so you have to use it correctly. It works on carpet, plastic, dashboards, leather & rubber
