Just for the sake of interesting talking points...
I decided that after having my wheels refurbished and tidying up the existing set up that they looked a little lost inside the wheels. So a bit of research later into big brake conversions and looking into what I can get at an affordable price I found a good set of second hand 4 pot callipers which are fitted to a number of Mercs including the CLK55 AMG. I picked up a new set of the bigger Brembo discs and pads at a ridiculous discounted price at Eurocarparts, and set to refurbishing the callipers. I opted for the AMG decals on them just because I wanted to (it has after all got the Amg Sport option)
I love projects like this:
Making improvements both to the safety and aesthetics of my car. The whole lot was a straight swap.
Im thrilled with the result and my insurance company also happy with the mod.
I am consequently selling my old set up which is advertised in the classifieds at a very reasonable price.
All this brown crud was just dirt. 
Bit of duck tape always good practice in case you Ding the calliper against the disc and damage the coating.
