Bleeding/flushing brake fluid is fairly straightforward if you have someone to operate the brake pedal on command, but as a one-man job it's a challenge. I've tried a vacuum pump to pull the fluid through the bleed nipple, but I've found I'm likely to pull air through the screw thread, meaning the fluid isn't pulled as effectively, and there are always bubbles in the outgoing fluid so it's impossible to know if all the air is out. I've also tried a positive pressure system, using the air pressure in the spare wheel, but that's unwieldy and the one time I tried it I ended up with a lot of spilled fluid!
So does anyone have a recommendation for a dedicated tool? I see there are plenty available, with a pressure tank for fresh fluid, a cap to fit the master reservoir, and a pump to provide pressure.
Is there something better for my S212 and my W221 than, say, this?
I use this . Only downside is you need a spare wheel ,or deflate a fitted rim to 20 psi.
