Biggest wheel size without lowering?

Hi guys and girls, im picking up a 2004 clk avantgarde in a couple days which has the stock wheels on it. They are a little too small for my liking so i wanted to replace them with something bigger.

Does anyone know what the largest wheel size i can go with, without having to lower the car to look right and not a 4x4?

No matter what size the wheels are, you will fit lower and lower profile tyres so that the diameter is always the same. So, the gap all round will always be the same. If you think the gap is too big, then you should lower now.
