Have you checked your warranty?

It is usually a no, no for the CDI range of engines and may possibly nullify the warranty but your booklet will clarify this?

I seem to recall that changeing to a different type of fuel filter is involved, as are more frequent oil changes.

A the new diesels can use B5 right out of the factory. Anything more will void the warranty on US vehicles, I don't know if that applies to UK cars as well.
