Decided to go for a debadge on the C180 in the end. No real reason for it other than the bunch of idiots in C220 CDI's (hope you aren't on here!) wanting a traffic light grand prix to show off how quick they are o_O. Yes, I get it, I have the base engine, surprised a few after the remap too!

Should mention it'd the first debadge I've ever done so was very pleased how it came out.

Anyways here are the before pics:

Did look a bit lobsided with only a badge on the left side. Heated up with a hairdryer and used some 49p home bargains dental floss to remove the badges. Left a lot of black sticky gunk behind

Most of it actually rolled off with a finger:

The remaining residue was removed with Powermaxed Tar off (brilliant stuff but potent!) and it was polished up with Autosmart Mirror Image

Im sure the E55K wouldnt get the same sort of looks as the C180 does sometimes! Everyone's like oh is it a 1.8. Nope its a 1.6 - "OMG in such a heavy car" to which I have to reply, its actually running more HP than a C220 CDI lol

Either way, the C220 was £500-700 more in insurance for me so Im happy :)

Looks so much nicer.

How much did the remap increase your insurance ?

How much extra was the insurance after the remap? Assuming you told your insurance company

LTD just beat me to the question!

It didn't. Listed as a modification but no increase to the price itself :)
Great, thanks for the reply.

Check with insurer to be sure as they all have different policies regarding remaps. I did mine through a broker so was not a problem, other insurance companies won't even insure a car with a remap though.

I love a good old debadge, I do...

Thats a fantastic looking motor - wish I had the means to insure one! Ah well, one day...

While washing the car a couple of weeks ago the microfibre cloth caught the 'C' in the Bluetec badge and pulled it off so I am now contemplating a de-badge, my dilemma is whether to do a complete de-badge or just the 'Bluetec' badge.
This is what it would look like full de-badge:

I still prefer a car without badges though I haven't got round to doing it on my current one in the nearly 2 years I've owned it.

I did however do the previous one and it made cleaning a lot easier and, to my eyes at least, looked OK: -

I still miss that car...
Looks smart. I wish I had the quad pipes too.

Id probably go for the full debadge - looks clean that - and always loved that colour too
OMG I saw a hyacinth red C43 in the showroom, porcelain interior, premium plus package - that colour just set the car off, definitely would be my choice!

When the lights turn green dont budge.the satisfaction of not being drawn in by boys is a great feeling.

Bet, that's as good, as leaving them standing! Knowing you can leave them in your wake
but don't, and watching them rag the @rse off their car for nowt. :D
