Was this anyone on here? I was in my C55... the car was lowered and de badged and so close to my rear end in the outside lane at 80 mph that I could see all the details of the ugly mug driving. Idiot..... I just pulled over and let him pass until he had to slow down for roadworks.

Sorry for the rant but it's that kind of senseless driving that causes accidents.

Most 190 drivers are over on the mercedes190.co.uk forum rather than the 'general' ones like this one .

I imagine C55 AMG models do tend to give off a slight vibe of " well come on if you think you're hard enough!" ;) goes with the badge?:dk: Good for you not rising to the bait.:thumb:

Absolutely. I just don't understand the mentality of this. What does it prove to tailgate another driver at 80? A total disregard for the safety of another motorist is all that comes to mind?

Its only a matter of time before he does it to someone who will teach him a lesson.
Law of averages.

Its for overtaking so just move into middle lane if you want to go slower than car behind......Or in contrast to the rest of comments you should have given it the beans and shown him the meaning of that C55 badge clinging on to the boot for dear life.....:bannana:

Well you should return to lane 1 unless overtaking :p

Not just a disregard for the safety of "ANother" motorist, but all the motorists around him.

I don't agree. The right lane is not just for overtaking. If the traffic in all lanes happens to be going at the same speed, then it can't all go in the left lane can it?

I drive at 70 mph on the motorway and if somebody tailgates me, flashes me or beeps me, I just ignore it until there is a safe gap for me to pull into.

Use lots of your skooshies. It annoys people behind, especially scooter riders that have no concept of distance.

An idiot as he shouldn't tailgate that close, especially as he did it on a car far faster than his. If he had done it on my e55 I would smoke him to remind him the badge, I would not move out of his way until he would get enough speed to catch me when I slowed down again.

I would respect him around bends but on the motorway his 4pot means nothing, and he shouldn't drive it like that.

It's not about who has the bigger willy or what speed you think is safe.

It's really very simple.

Keep as far to the left as you can & always move back to the left ASAP after overtaking. That's all there is to it.

And what is the point in doing that? 'My cocks bigger than yours, kid'. It's exactly this kind of driving that leads to big accidents through anger and frustration. Your no better than the person behind you when you act like this. In other words, just as bad.

I think we all need to stop acting like school kids on the roads and grow up.

True.
After all - as honda say "Aren't we all just trying to get somewhere??"

If you want to prove something - go to a 'race what u brung' / track day.

simples

So you're the guy up front holding everyone up in the outside lane, i always wondered who that was!! :D :D The problem in this country i think is people who want to go slower get offended by people that want to go faster for some reason, it seems to dent their pride and so they sit in the outside lane saying to themselves that if they are doing 70 then they are doing no wrong and can sit there and not move out the way. I think this causes more frustration and rage than anything else, if people just got left as soon as they could like every other country in Europe our motorways would be far better.....

If your speedo says you are driving at 70 your true speed is probably about 63 or 64 or 65 mph.

WRONG ! The right hand lane on a motorway of three or more lanes is ONLY FOR OVERTAKING . That's the LAW - no argument or discussion possible .

If the traffic in all lanes happens to be going at the same speed, then it can't all go in the left lane can it?
Yes , it can . What do you think happens when the motorway goes down to two lanes or even a single cariageway ?

That is just ignorant and plain STUPID . You don't know WHY they are flashing you - it could very well be an expectant father trying to get his heavily pregnant wife to the hospital , someone with a critically ill passenger trying to get to the hospital , an officer of any of the emergency services trying to get to an urgent call in their own vehicle or a commandeered vehicle - or any number of other valid circumstances . Just who do you think you are to sit there out of ignorance and sheer bloody mindedness ???

If someone wants past , you MUST move out of the way and let them past - THAT IS ALSO THE LAW .

Where do you read about all these interesting bits of law? They are all news to me.

If I am driving in the right hand lane at 70 mph and at the same speed as a car in the middle lane, what can I do? Exceed the speed limit or slow down and further annoy those behind me?

Please stop shouting. It doesn't help to get your point across.
