Various Mercs come and go
Went to the BCA classic car auction yesterday as there were a couple of Mercs going through and I was interested to see how much they went for....after seeing the results keeping my credit card under control was very very hard!!!!:)

1976 380 SL......Red, very good condition £4500

1979 450 SLC with 48,000 miles. Fern Green. Excellent condition. £3900

1985 500 SEC ex AMG demo car with full AMG body kit+wheels and fully loaded with extra's. Silver in colour and immaculate £5000 ish....high mileage though 156,000

1989 300 SL with only 45,000 miles in white/blue roof....immaculate £13,000

1979 450 SEL 6.9, 96,000 miles, an absolute beauty....grey metallic...my favourite of the day.....£3500........kicking myself for being so sensible now! :p

It amazes me why people try and sell their classics at auction...the prices they achieve are woeful.

Another car that went through which also made me think twice was an Alfa Sud 1.5Ti from 1976 with 19,000 miles and 1 owner from new. No rust which was amazing and it went for just £1300. Having owned one of these in the early 80's it brought back some good memories....an absolute blast to drive, just a shame about the rust.
