Blast from the past??

The new Rexton is based on the ML and IIRC it doesn't look all that bad, except maybe for the grill. The chairman even used to have an upright Ssangyong bonnet ornament, looks like the new one might not.

We have a chuckle about these cars but they actually serve a very useful purpose; guaranteed spare parts for a few more decades...

You are correct.Journalistic carelessness or ignorance I'm afraid. This sort of inaccuracy does make you doubt the overall veracity of the article. Hence the MAYBE :( in my original post.
 
Looks more like a 140 from the C-pillar.
