As per the posts above he sourced it VIA US directly himself and NOT a UK Stealer...

I think we're all gonna have to be patient and wait until after March :(

I needed a spare key for the E320 anyway so I had already bargained for spending about £150ish

Have just been reading about these keys on a USA website, the guy paid $75 from the dealer had to supply vin number, and came programmed.

Okay received my key today! It is excellent, almost too good to use haha. All the functions work, and even the key blade was pre cut to my car. It comes with four different key blade release switches as well, red, blue, grey and I think black. The key also functions all around the vehicle, not just at the drivers door via infra red as some uk people have reported. I am guessing the frequencies are different in UK for some reason? I am using the key with an "Australian" w202.

BUT there is an issue with the key's frequency in the UK and it will not function fully as it should i.e. doors can only be locked/unlocked close to the driver's side IR. Also, US keys are slightly different as they have a red panic button integrated on to it the sets off the alarm for US spec cars only.

US/Australia may posisbly share same frequency.

This bothers me. You're the second poster to have obtained a key from the states with only a VIN number.
Doesn't bear thinking about what could happen.....

They have tightened up the ordering process on the US site, they won't ship keys now without registration documents and a drivers licence or passport. Still not as secure as having to be there in person...

If I recall correctly, the most usual frequency for remotes in the UK is 434MHz.; Inthe States I think it is somewhere around 315MHz (if anybody's interested)

I found a good comparision picture of both the keys it thought would be good to share only thing though these are the USA keys with the panic button, wonder why we dont have that feature here in the UK ?

because we panic less... we dont need jerry springer, cheese or burgers to survive and hence we dont need a big red button to press when we cant find one of the above..

Same reason why we dont have a panic button next to the sunroof, or a huge green escape button in the Boot
