Blocked drain on R230 SL

I have had some issues with water ingress into the boot of my SL500 which I seem to have cleared by unblocking the roof drain holes built into the seal. I still have an issue with the drain hole in the fuel filler area. The water just collects here and will not drain. I tried sticking a thinner hose down and 'plunging' the drain and I did get a lot of muck out but it's still blocked about 10" down. I then tried a thin wire down the middle of this hose to try and scrape any blockage but not moving. Is this an easy area to get to the back of or is there an easier way of clearing this drain?
