Bluetooth connection in 2005 C200

Hi,

I've just purchased a 2005 C-class (C200 CDI) and was wondering if someone could give me a hand with an issue?

I really want to connect my phone to the in car bluetooth. Through a quick search I found that bluetooth connection can be a hassle. There is nothing connected to the UHI in the centre console but my phone can find a device called UHI-SN1620. Does this mean it has a bluetooth somewhere else?

I've been trying to pair my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) to the bluetooth but, whenever I try to connect I'm prompted to enter a PIN on the phone. I've looked through all the documentation and cant see a PIN written anywhere.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need a Bluetooth Adapter.

Either an MB or Viseeo.

Assume that you have this plug in the top of your armrest...





This is the Mercedes adaptor which plugs into that socket. (Below).



Usually some to be found on fleabay, or members here occasionally list them in the Classifieds here. (You will however be unable to sent anyone a Private Message if someone has one for sale here. Minimum of 30 posts needed to use PM).

Make sure you don't buy an adaptor for an earlier car. Mercedes updated and changed the system.

If you check Mercedes Comand Navigation and Audio Specialists (Forum Sponsors) you will find the info on which one you need. And they sell them.

Just a quick follow up question, if I need a bluetooth adapter, how come I can see a device when I scan for bluetooth?

Ah, that's a bummer, the adapter seems to be the way to go then. Just wish they weren't so expensive.

There is a cheaper solution if you have the socket in the glovebox

i bought the viseeo system for mine.
but should have got the one with audio

I'm afraid I don't have any socket in the glovebox

Cant find the Viseeo for much less than £200, guess I'll have to wait for next payday
