is it still possible to get new body panels for a 1995 w124 E320. The inside lips on my two front wings are rusting and they will need replacing soon

thanks

and after 9 years in the sun / rain / dust / dirt tehy will match perfectly wont they ;)

hadrian panels www.carpanels.co.uk iirc do cheaper replacements - not the same quality - but a tub of under seal and a good body shop will get it to match

My local (independent) bodyshop manager told me they prefer to use oem panels on mercedes and other classy brands, because the oem panels stand a better chance of fitting straight away, and I was told that the cheaper panels may cost a lot more in labour to look right, might as well get the oem ones. He also said this is because prestige car owners tend to want their cars to look good, therefore panel gaps etc are important :) . If you didn't care about panel gaps and the fit of the panel, then replica or oem "seconds" could be used to save some money.

where do the body shops get the oem panels from?

I would sugest from the dealers

I recently had an OEM front wing replaced at Haynes Auto technics in Worthing and the colour match was perfect on my 9 yr old W124.
They were more expensive than the insurers body shop but I insisted on using my own garage and I am glad I did.
I have had some iffy repairs in the past on other cars but I was stunned by the result on the Merc.
