Bonnet Star

Hi,can anyone tell me if it's possible to fit a Bonnet Star on a 2011 C180 cgi W204 estate.At the moment it has the flat emblem which is easily removed by just pressing in the spring mechanism but I can't find a Star that has the same mechanism fitting,will any other type of fitting work or does it have to be the same? Thanks.

A bonnet star fits a W204 without a problem. It will look a bit naff if you have the big star in the grille as well IMO. Don't be tempted by the cheap copies on eBay, get a genuine one.

Thanks AMGeed,does any other type of fitting method matter as the one I have is the one where you press 2 buttons together and it just pops out,others I've seen are a push in and twist method,I do have the big star on the grill but need to see a bonnet star before making my mind up,I just think the bonnet star adds a bit of class.

If you remove the one you have fitted you should have a circular hole with two horizontal cutouts. The bonnet star will fit this. All stars are push and twist.
Take a look at the stars on ebay to get an idea what they're like. ECP sell oem ones cheaper than dealer prices. Just make sure its the correct size as I believe there are two aperture sizes. Your's should be a 44mm star.

Are you taking about the raised star that was fitted to the 60 and 70s cars?

I think people were discourage to have these on their cars due accident with pedestrians similar to the Jaguar mascot and i am not sure if they are permitted to be on your car now unless they are spring loaded.

?? The thing is spring loaded and lays down flat with very little pressure.

Also, they still fit them from the factory, just not on "sport" models.

You will need a pair of pilers to fit the star rather than the 2 button press of the flat badges.

Hi,and thanks for your comments,just to let you know I have purchased one and fitted it and personally I think it looks quite good,and it is a 44mm star,once again thanks for your input
