Just topped up the screen wash and now the bonnet will not lock in place. The release handle in the car is hanging down loose. Any ideas for a quick fix?

Thanks, Peter

Has the nipple that is connected to the wire come out of it's locating point on the handle ...

Get in the footwell with a torch and have a look .... if so clip it back in ...

It sounds like the catches or cable has jammed. The handle should be pulled back up by the catch springs.

Thanks for the advice, I can not see a loose wire so think it is corroded. I have sprayed WD40 all over the catches under the bonnet to see if it will loosen.

Do you know if the cable & catches are sold separately or if it will all be in one expensive kit?

The WD40 seems to have done the trick. The handle is back in the normal position and the bonnet now shuts.

mine done the same when i was at the petrol station, jiggled the handle about and seemed to sort it.

I had this problem when I first got my 129. Took me a while to realise the release handle needs pushing right back in before dropping the bonnet.
