Unable to open the bonet

Hi Guys,

Nice sunny day
Unable to open the bonnet! Need to top up windshield wash, but unable to do so
The latch was historically iffy, think a little loose
However, could pull through the right side of the car and open the bonnet. Recently had an mot, where they topped up the wiper fluid, since then Iam unable to open the bonnet
Tried inserting a screw driver or moving the latch, nothing
Any advise?

Yes, can slide my hand through. But can't get the latch to open

That would be do give it a good spray and see what happens i had the same issue with one of my cars but when I closed the bonnet and pulled the bonnet catch it opened up and the latch was free

How do I now close the bonnet? It's just like a narrow gap and even after pushing down on it hard, nothing happens
Thankfully, no dashboard signals come up

Gonna take the bins out now and have another go

So some good news, sprayed some
wd40 and was driving around South Wales. The heart sinking red bonnet sign flashed up! Thought that this was it, another 2-300 quid down the tube.
Noticed a kwik fit tyre shop and pulled over.
The chap sort of pushed down or bounced the sides of the bonnet, like a basket ball. Then went to the centre and opened the latch!!! I sprayed or drowned those latches in wd40- pic enclosed
It opens like a dream now, the power of advise on this forum and wd40

The kwik fit chap wasn't even billing me, gave his assistant a tenner. He seemed embarrassed and repeatedly asked me ‘ are you sure’ I am damn sure, a 5 quid can of wd and 10 quid worth effort. Vs a stop over in Birmingham and some fancy diagnostic and solutions
In the meanwhile, notice my dipped headbulb’s retaining clip is missing
Closest I can find is Halford
Hope it fits, had changed to a super powerful night bulb but the left one seems ok and right one is like dipped plus ‘
