Hi All,
can any body help ?
how do i get to fuse box in boot?
where is it?

Alarm goes off even whilst being driven:wallbash:

can i remove fuse 17 ? will that stop it
Also hazard lights sometimes keep flashing once alarm set

Sounds more like the PSE pump.
What model/year is it?

Hi GH
Not sure if the R171 has the same issues with water getting into the PSE pump in the boot - the R170 certainly does - this CAN be dried out.
Worth doing a google search to see if the R171 suffers the same problem.

If you mean the alarm as in bad guys breaking into the car, the problem is most likely the siren unit. Common fault as the onboard battery fails. It's behind the wheel arch liner. Locate & remove/replace (about £80 from dealer) and nothing to do with PSE pump (can't see how/where that fits into your original post)

Hi Ixi,
will try this week-end,
err which wheel arch liner drivers or pax
is it an easy self doing job
Cheers

On the R230 SL it's behind the front liner on the nearside, but may be different on yours. Let it go off & listen for it! :thumb:

To get the liner off isn't hard - jack it up, wheel off, there is a succession of screws, bolts & clips - all pretty obvious.

The siren unit is round, about 10cm in diameter - wiring unclips. You might be best to disconnect only & if the symptoms go away, get a new unit (plug & play) then do the swap - just in case it's something else.

sounds (pardon the pun) easy job for tomorrow

now how many times have we all said that

Thanks Ixi

Sorted
Alarm siren is in the battery box,
removed the battery, removed siren,
HAPPY NEIGHBOURS
