This has happened a couple of times on my W211. Usually rectified by locking and unlocking the car.

i did try that once last night.... will try again today though, could the cold have anything to do with it perhaps?

thanks

I guess so, mine has stuck when the car has been frozen for a few days but then been fine after being opened and closed and the car locked and unlocked.

I also had a problem with my boot handle sticking in the open position, sprayed loads of WD40 in there and moved the handle backwards and forwards loads of times to free it up and that seemed to get the system really confused such that it wouldn't work at all. I thought I'd broken it but next day it worked fine again.

Mine seems a bit sensitive to any force being applied to the hydraulics at all. I have the autoclose option and if I (or more realistically my wife) try to close manually it will just stop working until it's reset it again but touch wood has always come back

still not working :( unlocked/locked loads, but i am still having to push the boot away from me for it to open..... what else could i try ??

That's the end of my knowledge on the matter I'm afraid. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

stupid question along these lines, my dads boot will fully open when the button is pressed, however mine just pops up... it doesn't stick or anything but it just doesn't pop up fully. is there anyway i can get mine to do so?
strange thing is he hates the fact his does it, and i could really do with mine to do it

The boot is opened by 2 large springs, one on each side.
Each spring has 3 positions and can simply be moved, up a notch

It's quite strange - my C270's boot used to spring up quite fast, my E320's comes up quite slowly and the C220 Sport I had as a hire car (pretty new) just released and you had to open it yourself!

I wasn't aware they could be adjusted, thanks for the info Nigel!

My boot fly's open on my W208 and then bounces a couple of times past it max opening angle, I feel as if it needs some sort of damper.
My father-in-laws Audi A4 opens up more controlled.:dk:
