boot release problem

boot release on remote and in car button wiil not work,it opens manually,car still opens and locks with remote,can any member give some ideas to what the problem may be,cheers smarsky

That sounds like an electrical problem... what year is your car?

(if it happens to be 2007, then is it the new shape w204 or the previous shape w203?)

You know you need to press and hold the button on the key fob for the boot to open? Same is true of the interior open switch, you need to activate the switch for a couple of seconds for it to activate.

(This has been true of all Mercs I've owned, so assume same will apply to your car.)

same problem

i have a (03) 27cdi i could not get boot lid opened at all,,eventually freed boot lock up with wd40, but remote or panel switch will not open boot,,new batteries fitted,,infra red is working checked with camera trick...please let me know if and how you got problem sorted as i have to open boot with key every time being disabled having to bend down to find kethole does not help.....cheers 900diversion

You need to get the car on star to check the values. Just out of curiosity do you have a failed brake lamp or reverse lamp on the n/s/r?
