So i bought brake disc for my w220 s500. 2003 jap import

I went to fit it on in garage but they where too big. Why would this be?

Was i sold incorrect size and i currently have aftermarkets parts on?

My brake calipers and brake pads are all mercedes.i have never changed brake discs though.

Right one is mines. They polished it and put back in as they couldn't get replacement straight away.

It varies with the suspension type - Classic, Avantgarde, Sport, AMG, etc... you really should get the discs' part number matched to the car's VIN using EPC. If you buy genuine discs from a Mercedes Benz dealer, the parts counter will check this for you.

Many years ago when we had a motor industry, on of my cousins worked a major motor manufacturer.
As we were both interested in cars, we'd chat about his work/cars etc.
He told me the vin plate/chassis stamped number was put on the the car one station after it was sprayed.
Further down the line, a few hours down the line, when the stock was short, they would put on a
model upgrade to suspension etc.

Many years ago, family member had a Vauxhall Cavalier 20i GL - he had brakes replaced at main dealer
and the man at the desk advised him fitting was delayed but a couple of hours as for some reason his car had
SRI pads as opposed to GL/20i pads
Things have moved on with "just in time" parts arriving but IMO, mistakes during the assembling of cars may still happen
and IMO, it can be that the parts seller got it wrong.

My glc has 3 options, it's nothing new tbh. 360 mm ,342mm ,320 mm
