I have just replaced both sets of brake pads on my 2007 W211 E320CDI V6 everything went well went to start the car this morning and was met with the warning light in the shape of the engine illuminated, manual says it could elude to the computer not being able to process certain readings ie coolant temperature, rev counter or cruise control, and now the car will not accelerate above 40mph strange question to ask could this stem from anything relating to changing the pads or is this an unfortunate occurance relating to something more sinister any help would be gratefully appreciated :dk:

Nothing to do with changing the brakes, just unlucky I guess, you will need the fault codes reading to identify what is at fault.

Check over the engine bay for loose connections fuse box etc something may have got knocked loose when you had the brake fluid reservoir cap off.

If you have damaged either the ABS sensor or any of the ABS sensor leads while you were working on the brakes, this could be the cause.
The data from the ABS sensors are used as part of the inputs for the engine management system.
Contradictory inputs from ABS sensors could be the cause of problems.
Is your ABS working OK ?

Thanks for the prompt replies guys took it to an indie faults identified and cleared hopefully back to normal anomaly between open circuit glow plugs and cheap supermarket fuel to be monitored lesson learnt

I've never had a problem with supermarket fuel...its a myth.

Supermarket diesel is fine,I use the Millers additive as well, works just fine for me with increased Mpg as well
