Brake pedal sticking

Hi while out driving tonight the brake pedal started sticking on my w202 auto .I have to lift it back up with my foot .Just wondering if this as been covered on here .I have tried to search for it but didnt find anything.

Hi,
I think there is a return spring on the pedal this may of snapped causing your problem.

Thanks for picture of foot brake .I tried to have a look and feel about and couldnt find spring.Now I have the above I will have another look tomorrow.

I`ve been thinking wouldnt the brakes come off due to car moving even tho brake pedal sticking if it was just the spring.
