Well of course it does!
It just that somethings especially when you are an outsider, or have lived out of the UK for a considerable time you tend to conclude,
I am a stranger here in this place of my birth and up bringing, & its a stranger to me these days.
Most
Brits are prisoners of Mother England anyway , you have distant dreams of leaving, but can't for all sorts of reasons.

Now that is understandable because we Brits are an island nation having
island viewpoints.
.
Some are strange ,parochial, quaint, funny . startling, arrogant, have an extraordinary sense of fair play (which opens you up to being diddled at times) and best of all totally eccentric which simply baffles the world outside.
No wonder then TV serials like
Fawlty Towers is a smash hit on US TV, as the viewer watches crazy Brits & their antics exemplified by a comedy TV serials
Once it promoted a "German" watching Basil ,Fawlty to ask me
"Do you actually do those things in your country ? Answer Well yes at times !!! Reaction from bloody foreigner can be best summed up as
"confused" !
I will enclose this post with an observation of Brits coming back from Le Continenent on ferry boats.
Having mustered on the departure decks the unwashed masses make their way to the car decks .
Its at least 15 minutes to docking, and about ten minutes for car discharge movements.
Then the Brit national characteristic rears its comical edge!
You start your cars up and fill the car decks with exhaust gas fug going nowhere! (Nutters all)
Don't give $schit about the deck hands, and those awful motorcyclist/cyclists who we really hate deep down but can't admit it.
And once a German motorcyclist stood by me asking in absolute wonderment at getting gassed
"do you do these things in your country? " Yes !
Welcome to the UK.
