Fair Use Policy for AOL Broadband
If you subscribe to any of our broadband services, the Fair Use Policy applies to you.

Why does AOL Broadband have a Fair Use Policy?
We're passionate about providing all our Members with a fast, reliable and high quality service. To achieve this, we implemented a Fair Use Policy as part of the terms and conditions governing the AOL Broadband Service in January 2007.

Excessive bandwidth usage, exceeding what we deem to be reasonable levels for a residential broadband product, slows down our service and affects the online experience of all other AOL Broadband Members.

Thanks for the comments so far, but I still don't know what my monthly usage is to help me decide whether to stay with AOL or jump ship. Any ideas how to measure the use of 3 PC's, 1 laptop, 1 XBox & what ever the other boy uses (Wii or play station or both!!!)

Unless your router supports some form of logging, your options are:
- Router logging
- Replace router with one that supports logging
- Ask ISP how much traffic you used last month
- Install a data-monitoring tool (Virgin was recomending a free one a while back, I can look for it) on the 4 machines, then manually add the figures together and guesstimate the xbox/wii/ps figures based on time (If I remember well, games like call of duty use roughly 50-100mb per hour)
