Budget machine polishers

If you've got Meg UC, you could ask for a liquid wax….maybe Colinite 845 or Chemical Guys Butterwax? Or maybe more pads for wax application if you've got liquid wax already.

I made that self same kit (hex logic pads are tried and tested) but after advice, looked at the new micro fibre pads Microfiber Pads Optical Polishing System -Buffing + Polishing Systems Chemical Guys - YouTube (as an example video).

I would add in some blue masking tape.

Giant,

Thanks for the advice, so what would UC replace? 105 or 205??

I've already got my fav waxes, as I've been doing all detailing by hand for a while now (my all time fav is dodo juice RBJE) & I've also got a tub of Purple Haze Pro.

I'll have a look at the mf pads, but for some reason my perception is that the foam pads would be more user friendly to start of with.

Also got lots of the 3m blue masking tape at home, best tape, I use it for everything :D

Maybe I am misreading your post but you already have one of the Megs compounds…I was suggesting more pads (or whatever) rather than another bottle of something you have to keep the deal price.

No you're right.

I've got megs UC, but I'm not sure on what it is equivalent to - 105 OR 205?

Sorry, have reached and breached my depth of knowledge with that one. The shop should be able to advise (or detailing world forum).

Haha no problem, it would be good if it could be a replacement to one or the other, meaning that I can drop one polish & pick up one more pad, probably the finishing pad...

After watching that video & having a little read on microfiber pads..... I'm in the middle of two roads, think I want the MF pads now - Really like the idea that you wont run the risk of marring the paint....
