Build Date

Hi All

I am a first time Mercedes owner having just bought a 2004 E320 CDi Elegance with 1 owner and 33,000 miles

I am delighted with the car which is in superb condition but this joy has been more than tempered by reading of the horrors of a valeo radiator failure

From what I have read cars affected had a build date up to Sep 2003, I have tried to visually check what radiator my car has but this is impossible. I am keen to find out the build date of my car but this doesn't seen to be shown on the data card etc

Can anyone tell me where I can find this information ?

The date the car left the production line will be on the datacard as "delivery date"

Thanks whitenemesis, but I dont have a delivery date on the datacard. The only thing close to this is section 5 'Order no' which begins 0 4

That's unusual!

Put up your VIN (you don't have enough posts for PM) and I could check. You can edit it out once I've got it.

Thats brilliant thanks Nemesis (Car was registered on the 30th of March 2004)

That should put me outside the valeo rad issue then but think I will get it checked anyway when it next goes in for a service

Out of interest, what part of the VIN gives the specific date ?

I don't know, I just input the VIN into EPC (MB online parts database) and generate the datacard.
