I changed the side and parking bulbs on my 2008 S204 C220 for LED's, you have to get the canbus ones and they're a fiddly awkward swine to change. Make sure you test the LED after clipping it into the holder but before you push the holder back into place - the LED's have to be the right way round to work, and if you have to pull the holder back out there's a chance the square edge of the LED will catch, pull out of the holder and drop inside the headlight (ask me how I know...)

For the dip and main beams, I swopped the standard bulbs for Phillips nightbreaker plus, they're somewhat better than normal bulbs.

cheers chris ,,, i wont ask how u know but i bet u were ****** off , the info people give here is really good thanks again

Changing headlamps on W204

Hi Chris (or anyone else who knows) :)

I want to upgrade the lamps and have bought the Philips ones mentioned on here, but the xenon look. half price at the minute of eurocarparts got the pair for £25,00.

my query is how do I fit them...do I need to remove the full headlamp or is it easy to do with the unit in situ? reason I ask is the washer bottle seems to be in the way on the left side.

cheers for your help!

Neil.

Just changing the bulbs in the headlights is relativly easy from under the bonnet, the owners manual shows you how. It's the side/parking lights that are fiddly to get at!
