Out driving along a country road this morning in my 1984 SEC
- all is well - when suddenly, after a dip in the road surface, I am subjected to the most horrendous screeching noise and vibration. All sorts of fatalistic ideas rush through my head.
Well anyway on inspection I find that the bumper on the passenger side has fallen slightly and is rubbing on the tyre - could be worse. I have now examined the area more closely and have found the following. The bumper has a small hollow box projection that resides in a bracket that is suspended from the underneath of the car. This box section appears to have sheared. I supppose I could jury rig the whole thing with suitable binding - but I'd rather not. Am I looking at a total bumper replacement or can I replace the offending appendage on the bumper. I so, what part am I looking for?
Thanks in advance,
Mark S.
