I have now sold my Porsche and intend to look at a 2007 Mercedes CL 500 with 70k miles and full MB service history.
I would like to know what key areas to check and do these cars have any weak points?
I think my main concerns are the suspension and the 7 speed auto box.
If there is any owners out there with some experiences of the good and bad points it would be great to hear from you.
Many thanks.

I don't think that I would buy anything that complicated from a non franchise dealer, at least you get a 1 or 2 year warranty to sort out any potential issues.

Malcom (Television) on the other side is your man when it comes to the CL500. Am sure he will be able to answer any questions you may have. I recently posted the similar as I was looking at the CL500 and the 63.
As long as you do your homework thoroughly and glean as much info & advice from owners on here, I don't think you will go far wrong.
I personally like to buy my cars private, regardless of what they cost, as I believe it represents the best value for money and tend to be more 'honest'.
Whilst there is many an argument for buying from garages/franchised dealer/main dealers etc oppose to buying privately, mine is just purely my preference.
