Just a thought......have you considered a CLK 55? Just putting it out there
Nice! Is that the 640 kit?
Ah, that’s Mike’s old car? You’re Elizabeth. Penny drops!
Haha, yes it is and yes I am
Haha! You still at the magazine?
You’re very welcome. It’s a slightly different crowd. I find the contrast quite interesting...
I meant more from the BMW lot baying for my blood if they found me here, lol! But I have two BMWs so I'd like to think that's enough to offset buying one AMG
Love the colour - looks very nearly Estoril Blue which I remember from my E36 Evo many many moons ago.
I imagine that shifts as my E55K was running at around 600 and that was a bit tasty.
Thank you And it's not too far off, though this is darker and more blue than Estoril, if that makes sense! It's Monte Carlo blue, which was available either as a special order colour or on the special edition model, like mine
And it does, but the difference is that you still have to work for it. Max power doesn't arrive until over 8k and whereas yours would have had around 700lb ft, mine 'only' has around 370. The power delivery is nice because it's very linear and feels a lot like the stock engine, just with a lot more of everything, but it does also mean you have to be committed. This is why I like the idea of the M113K which would be a better companion when I'm not in the mood to put the effort in
Very nice.
Yes, very true - I remember the Evo revving to around a 7500 red line although I loved driving a car like that back then.
My E55 was "only" just under 600lb-ft but yeah was very early in the rev range and very easy to get the power on - I think that changed me into preferring forced induction (along with the Saab 9-5 Aero HOT I had before). It's addictive!
Sounds like an E55K or CLS55K beckons then!
