C class digital mileage readout dark

Dear All,

Purely as a speculation I bought an N reg C class 180 classic. Two owners, all the MOTs and 67k. Drives very nicely, clean changes, good brakes and electric windows, roof etc all ok. I thought not a bad deal for £800. I will be moving it on after a full clean up and fettle. The remote central locking key is dead, which I can get sorted. However the mileage readout remains dark and the clock whilst illuminated is haywire. I rather think I know the answer, but is there a fix for this?

My dim digital mileage readout was fixed with a simple bulb change sorted when in for a service
