C1479 speed sensor code

Error message on dash esp/abs defective

This code came up after a scan and clearing the codes this code came up again:

C1479 check component L6/3 (left rear speed sensor)

So question is do I just change the sensor and that will cure the problem or could it be something more.

New sensor around £60

It's quite common that the magnetic pick up rings corrode away. So inspect it when the speed sensor is removed

It was the actual ring and not the sensor.
More labour to fit the ring though
