On Friday while driving to work display in my C180 started showing couple of messages
Brake Lining Wear
Brake Light Bulb

after driving few more miles it started showing message about ABS
Now it dispalys
Visit Workshop Display Faulty ABS,BAS, ESP & also Engine light has started showing.
I have never seen that many messages in one go.
I have replaced the Bulb ,But still rest are present.

My speedometer needle has also stopped working.
Could somebody please help.
One thing which I noticed was that ABS light went itself today morning and also Speedometer starting working itself. But now all have started showing again.

Is this something to do with some wire which is loose.
Please kindly help

The best thing to do with so many faults showing is get hooked up a diagnosis machine. It could be wire problem, i have had 3 different faults with my W210 and ended up been wire problems

Just had exactly the same problem come up on my C200 W203 about 10 minutes ago. All the same messages and the speedometer needle has also stopped working. Will take it to the local garage tomorrow morning to get it checked it out.

@ Adamerc.. did you manage to find the cause of the problem?

Regards

You need to get the fault codes read on star(a few posters on here have one,blackc55,willow132 & jaymanek).Faulty brake light switch &/or faulty wheel speed sensor could be the issues with your problems but star will tell you exactly:thumb:

i would get it on star, i had a similar problem, not while back but the car wasn't starting, then the next morning it strated magically...willlow132 had a look for me, everything was fine, rear sam, front sam, ignition switch, cluster but the cars electronics were under-powered...changed the battery and it kinda solved problem...for now

Hello Spaceman,
No luck so far. I will wait for your comments on your garage visit.
Mr precious :- My Battery is around two years old. Could this be the cause. I don't feel hieadlight going Dim when I start the CAR so may be its not battery.

Speedometer Needle starts working sometimes....may be I have some wire loose somewhere

hey mate..any updates on ur garage visit

Garage checked Battery today and i was told it is fine and alternator is also doing its job well...battery now ruled out....could this be due to some fuse blown off

Quick Update:

Had a mate of a mate look at the car. I'm not too clued up mechanically about cars so excuse the lack of technical terminology. I was told there was pressure building up from the engine causing oil to spurt over some of the wiring and electronics. From what I could see there certainly was quite a bit of oil sprayed about. The mechanic replaced two breather hoses but left the one under the compressor. He then had an assistant clean as much oil off as possible. This appears to have fixed the problem as the error messages have stopped but I have been told that there is a possibility it may reappear in which case the breather hose under the compressor will need replacing.
