I have a non aircon C200 and according to haynes I should have 2 coolant temp sensors. One for the gauge and one for the fuel system. Euro car parts also offered me the two separate sensors.
My car only has one et al aircon models?
Can anyone confirm wether this is correct?
Both other holes in the thermostat housing are filled in

on my 94 c180 there is one intop of the rad (headertank) that does the level light and one under the platisc one the front of the engine! that does the ecu temp!

so why does the light keep glowing and then it goes off after awhile ?

yea thats deffo the temp sensor!

yea thats deffo the temp sensor!

But according to Haynes, I should have 2 temp sensors in the thermostat housing plus the coolant level sensor on top of the radiator like yours. Only aircon models have one sensor in the thermostat housing.
I just wanted that fact confirming as if that is the case, I may well have the incorrect engine/ecu/loom combination. This would explain the rough running.

Can anyone confirm whether the above info from Mr Haynes is correct?

Thanks

Mat

this is what i have on my 1996 C230 kompressor and that HAS aircon!
so i dont know!

can anybody tell me what the part is called towards the top of the above pictures?
it is round, appears to have 3 bolts and is set into the engine. it has the black squarish electrical clip on it.
when i rev my engine, between certain revs, it appears to rattle.
when i disconnect the electrical connection to it, the car still runs but there is no rattle anymore.
what is this part and what does it do?
