Hi All,
First post, wish it was a happier one!
While on a motorway I noticed a strange noise as I accelerated which I initially thought was the exhaust blowing but after a bit of checking it is as the kompressor kicks in. It still seems to operate (although it was nursed home 90 miles trying to stay below 2k revs as much as possible) but definitely isn't well.
With the air filter cover removed it sounds like the air isn't flowing as freely as it should, and there is oil and some other dust like material on the 'clean' side of the filter.
I wondered whether anyone had any suggestions before I start dismantling everything. Hopefully not terminal, although it's a '99 with the wonderful spreading rust problem so it would be a hard decision to spend too much on it.
