Hi, just took delivery of C220 W205, the Audio 20 sounds inferior to my previous c180 w204 (2010)
The bass is very poor and hardly improves after tweaking with the built in 3 band EQ.

Does any body know how to access the engineering mode/menu i know there's a sequence of button presses on the W204, the 205 dose not have a phone dialing pad, so cant use the 204 method!

Any help would be most appreciated

Paul

Looking for the same feature

Hi,

I just changed from a W204 to the last c-class.
Like you, i think the sound is a little bit less present than in my previous car.

If anyone would be able to provide the way to get in the engineer menu :thumb:

Also if your car is brand new, the speakers will be stiff and it'll take a little time for them to run in and loosen up. The rubber/foam suspension around the drive unit will be restricting the diaphragm's movement, reducing excursion, which affects bass mostly.

The audio 20 on the w205 is certainly inferior to the w204!

Have a glk with audio 20 and am very pleased with it. Test drove a c220 sportline estate with amg pack yesterday and can confirm the standard audio 20 is poor, it is coloured and lacks bass, the equiliser hardly affects the sound. Very disappointing. It is so poor I have ordered the burmester system which sounded ok, mind you the only test car available was an s class! Here in france that has added a painful 1000 euro to the options bill......feel a bit cheated mercedes have scrimped it would have been better to put the standard price up and equip the car properly from the outset
