C220CDi Replace Brakeshoes

Has anybody replaced their brakeshoes, this is a 2002 sport coupe model. Have removed the disk but unsure of the brakeshoe mechanism?

Hi there not a bad job to do

the two littel springs on each side need to be pushed in and turned a bit then thay will come off

you will then remove the bigger springs on the shoes
one of the shoes will be off now the other you move it so you can remove the handbrake cable off the shackle thay should now be off

refit in reverse order it can be very fiddly to get tham back on
refit the discs and pads work the handbrake you might have to adjust the shoes abit more

Thanks for the reply. In the event I booked the car in to my local main dealer and actually found I had a faulty handbrake compensator too, which luckily is in warranty by four days!
