C250 CDi Sport (W204) - Manual
Hi

Wondering if anyone can help with a problem. Back in May I had new fuel injectors fitted to my C250 CDi Sport (59 plate) and immediately the cars Engine Manangement warning light came on and the car would not rev above 3000rpm.

Garage eventually fixed the issue (they said), but a couple of weeks ago the same thing happened, but with no warning light this time. Given that most of my day to day driving does not get me over the 3000rpm mark, the lack of warning light made me wonder how many times this problem has occurred without me knowing about it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the problem, before I take the car back to the garage.

Note, the service due indicator light has not yet come on either, despite a reminder phone call from Mercedes saying it should. (Service is due within 7 days!)

Sounds like limp home mode once again. You really need to get it into the garage and on STAR to see why.

Following on from my previous post, I took the car into Mercedes yesterday and guess what, they couldn't find any faults. So I am none the wiser as to why the car occasionally limits itself to 3000rpm.

They did however upgrade the fuel pump software (for the 3rd time), the net result is that my already poor 35mpg has now reduced to 30mpg. This from a car that is quoted at 55mpg combined and 42.8mpg urban!!:(

On another note, the bar which reads instantaneous mpg only goes up to 40mpg, is this the case for all Mercedes? It seems a bit pointless to stop at 40mpg for a car with the figures quoted above.
