Hi all,

I have a problem with a leak on the IP, within 20mins of stopping air will somehow get into the pump causing start up to be a right pain. It is not the fuelines as I have replaced the orings and i have stripped and replaced the shut off valve orings too.
I am looking for any suggestions as I can't find it and priming the pump every time I get in the car is becoming very frustrating.

Thanks in advance, peter.

Hi there,

Things to check are

Leak off pipes on the injectors (usually braided rubber)

Fuel feed and return hoses (Black rubber, at the rear of the engine bay on the passenger side of the car)

prefilter and oring, use only genuine MB parts, I got a ECP prefilter once, and this wouldnt seal.

if you have no air bubbles in the clear pipes then next thing to check is the dreaded delivery valve oring seals.

if you still have air bubbles in the clear pipes then u still have a leak before the delivery valves.

have a look on the top of the pump at the 5 splines - any wetness?

Pre pump is ok, the delivery valve seals do need doing but I didn't think they would cause air ingress.

Thanks Pete.

If they are leaking diesel out, then air will get in.
