c270 tyre size

I have w203 270 cdi with 16" wheels. The tyres currently on it are 225/50/16. My question is would it be ok to run 205/50/16 on the car as I have this same size on my evo and can buy the tyres cheaper.

I'd say no, the change in diameter is too great

Bad idea to move from the manufacturers approved size.

Smaller means less tyre suspension so more wear on the vehicle's suspension and it will also change the gearing which could have a negative effect on fuel consumption. Lastly it will make your car ride terribly.

As above, your tyres will be 20mm smaller in diameter. Quite apart from gearing etc etc...they'll look funny.
