C32 amg
The c32 amg says it's 356bhp as standard. Why am I seeing 320bhp after a stage 1 map..lol. Like wtf
How is this even possible.
It should be aroun s 386/396 with a stage 1

Welcome to MBClub. A few questions:

Was the 320 BHP measured at the wheels or calculated back to the crank? If so what did the operator assume to be the percentage operating loss?

Which type of chassis dyno was used? Did you do before and after runs, and if so what was the power output before you had the modifications done?

From memory, transmission losses on the C32 are around 18%, in which case 320 RWHP equates to around 390 BHP calculated back to the crank.

Per Wikipedia the stock power when new was 354 PS, 349 bhp:

After 20+ years and ? 000 miles you would expect to see less than that though. A 10% loss (to pluck a figure out of the air) would drop it to 314 bhp. - a lot would depend on the condition of the engine & supercharger.

That’s right 354 PS or 349 BHP when new.

Incredible to think that the last of the C 32 AMG were built 20 years ago now. Landmark car IMHO.

I think that it might be as simple as proper wheel horse power being confused largely irrelevant factory quoted crank horse power....the figures make close to sense then.

My car is a claimed 170 crank horse stock....has a 205 hp map....runs at a dyno proven 176 at the front tyres.....assuming the claimed map figures are correct thats about a 15% loss....which is about normal....its 18 to 20% on a rear drive car and up to 25% on 4WD!! But in my case being a derv its tuned for torque as that's what you feel when you put your foot down not outright horsepower...stock was 360nm....now its 425nm from not much over idle!!....which is far more torque at much lower revs than the 3.2 V6 petrol version....all from a 2L 4 pot diesel.....with 172,000 miles on!!!
