C32 Tensioner/idler broken.

Hi, Can anyone give me some info on the title?

Sunday I was travelling at 20 to 30 mph when i heard a bang and lost the power steering, I immediately pulled over and the belt had wrapped round the front of the engine and the tensioner wheel had sheared off . After waiting 2 hours for a recovery truck the car was delivered to a main dealer Sunday night.

No call on Monday from the dealer so I called Tuesday morning, no reply for 3 hours so I called again this time the man dealing with it had gone to lunch and would call me. No reply so I called again later in the day and was told the car had been in the workshop all day accessing engine damage

The AA recovery man said it would be a quick 2 hour job max and no damage would of been done to the engine. Would this tensioner shearing off cause enginge damage?

highly doubt that it would of caused engine damage so dont worry, why did you call the aa and not mobilo ?
Get back to the dealers where your car is and tell them you want a prompt diagnose now not in 2 more days.

Thanks for the reply Andy, its good to know no major damage might of been caused. As for the AA recovery i get it free with my bank the first guy was with me within 20 mins but had to wait for a recovery truck to arrive as was told the car cannot be towed for more than 2 miles.

To make things worse we are on holiday this week and should of left for Cornwall Monday morning
