C350 CDI om642 correct engine temperature?

Hi there, Got my E350 cdi W212 a few weeks ago and temperature was not reaching 'normal'. Told garage to change the thermostat and it now runs up to 90 and sits there all day whether in traffic or on a motorway. Believe the guys and gals on the forum and not MB specialist as the people on here have thousands of hours more experience collectively than any mechanic can.

The manufacturers change is 40k miles , maybe that’s why he is surprised ?
They also have hugely extended oil service intervals. Totally up to you guys if you want to change your oil every 18000 miles and your air filter every 40000
i don't think many of us here would wait that long.

The air filter seems a really long time to me.....mind you with the price of a pair of OM642 filters I can see why some are tempted on these old cars. Not me....I dont do many miles in my own cars now.....so they will be checked annually.....if they look like my pants after a day of wearing Id change them......if not they say for another year....like the pants!!!! Would not want filters older than three years old though....even though that's less than 20K for me.

Think my 2 are close to £90 from mb.

A swift few clouts off a wall and a good hoover would get another year from those orange panel filters.Screenshot_20250313-114427.png
